Members and membership
The common characteristics of all member-CSOs are their active involvement in 3rd World development issues. This could be either in the form of supporting projects and development co-operation with partners in developing countries and/or in the form of public awareness campaigns in the Danish public. The members represent a very diverse range of CSOs, both regionally and thematically.
PATC puts emphasis on building the capacity of those CSOs with limited human resources, because of that the large Danish CSOs (those with so-called framework agreements with Danida) are excluded from being members.
Prerequisites for membership
All Danish associations and non-commercial organizations who are engaged with or have activities in the developing countries can become members of PATC. As a member you can among others get free counselling and participate in courses, meetings and workshops held by PATC.
To become a member your association must comply with a set of demands:
- The association must either be engaged with developing work either as it main activity or as part of its activities and objectives.
- The association must be established and deeply rooted in a membership base, and have held its first general assembly
- The association must be registered in Denmark
- Non-commercial objectives
- Large associations with an independent framework agreement with Danida are excluded from membership.
