The Project Fund - funding for Danish CSO's
The Project Fund is a special funding mechanism for Danish CSO's, supporting their projects and partnerships with lokal local CSO's in the developing countries. The fund grants up to €400.000 and distributes a total of €10 million each year. The Project Fund is financed by The Danish Ministry og Foreign Affairs and administered by PATC.
The overall aim is "to contribute to the development of a strong, independent and diversified civil society in the developing countries" as stated in the Danish Government's "Civil Society Strategy"..
Please note that only Danish civil society organisations, cooperating with a partner in the South can apply for The Project Fund. The fund can NOT be applied directly by organizations in other countries.

Basic principles for The Project Fund
Grabts are given to a Danish CSO, but the local partner is responsible for practical management and implementation. All projects and activities should be planned with the aim of creating a synergy between servive delivery, capacity building and advocacy. Read more
Guidelines for The Project Fund
The guidelines describe the formal demands and assissment criterias that the application as well as the Danish and local partner has to meet. The supplementary Budget Guide and Administration Guide are used in the process of writing the application and administering the funds. Read more.
Types of activities
The Project Fund suppert four different kinds of activities: Appraisals; partnership activities; minor development projects; and larger development projects. Greater funding is met by greater demands. An association can apply for greater funding as their experience correspondingly increases. Read more.
Which countries are supported?
The Project Fund can only support projects that take place in poor countries as defined ny a Gross National Income per capita of less than US$ 2.470 (2009). With a few exceptions regarding pockets of poverty, indigenous people and the Republic og South Africa. Read more.
Application forms
Applications to The Project Fund should be submitted ind either Danish og English. Application forms is available in both languages as well as supplementary guides for budgets, administration and auditing. Go to downloads.
Policy framework
Applications for the Project Fund is assessed in accordance with "Guidelines for the Project Fund", which again complies with the principles written in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs´ "Civil Society Strategy" and in the ministry´s "General principles for support to Danish NGOs development-projects".
